Welcome to the official Dalby Netball Association (DNA) Competition Policy page. This document outlines the rules, expectations, and procedures that guide our Saturday fixtures and finals series.

Commitment Statement
Dalby Netball Association is dedicated to running high-quality competitions while maintaining good governance and compliance. Our aim is to foster participation, community spirit, and a genuine love for the game.
Who this Policy Applies to:
This policy applies to:
- All registered clubs
- Players (aged 7 and up)
- Coaches, umpires, and team officials
- Any individual participating in DNA-run competitions
Each section in the policy corresponds to specific competition rules, depending on the age group or division involved.
Saturday Fixtures – Key Info
Registration & Grading
- Teams must register at least two weeks before grading.
- Each team requires 7 to 12 players and 1 coach.
- Age divisions:
- Set (7–8 yrs, non-competitive)
- Go (9–10 yrs, competitive)
- Juniors (11–13 yrs)
- Cadets (14–17 yrs)
- Grading is both age- and skill-based.
- No player may be registered in more than one team or club within the same comp.
Rep Team Restrictions
- No official representative teams allowed.
- A maximum of 5 rep players allowed per team.
- Male participation is limited to 2 per team on court, with only 1 male in each goal circle.
Match Day Guidelines
General Rules
- Games follow International Netball Federation rules, with some local exceptions (e.g. umpire roles, scoring, fixture timings).
- Each team must provide 1 scorer, aged 15 or older.
Game Times & Durations
- 10-minute quarters
- 2-minute quarter breaks, 4-minute halftime
- Games scheduled across 3 rounds starting from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Substitutions & Borrowing Players
- No rolling substitutions allowed.
- Teams can borrow players from a lower division, but must maintain 5 original players on court.
- Borrowed players may only be used 3 times before becoming permanent in the higher team.
Weather & Emergencies
After halftime = score stands
DNA will notify teams via Facebook and email if games are cancelled due to bad weather.
Decisions are made at least 90 minutes before game time.
If a game is abandoned:

Teams are ranked based on these points throughout the season to determine finals placement.
Finals Information
Eligibility
To play in finals, players must:
- Be registered with that team
- Have played at least 60% of games
- Wear full club uniform

Finals Format
- Top 4 teams in each division enter the Preliminary Finals and Grand Final
- Drawn finals go into extra time, with a two-goal lead required to win
Weather Disruptions
Finals may be moved to cooler times or indoor courts in the event of extreme weather.
Uniform Rules (Yes, They Matter)
- Players must wear club uniforms and proper footwear
- No hard-brimmed caps, taped nails, or unapproved gloves
- Compression wear and long sleeves allowed if in club colours

All breaches are handled in line with the DNA Code of Conduct and Complaints Policy. Clubs and individuals are responsible for following the rules outlined here.
